2012, First Meeting, Wamsutter, WY, Wamsutter Baptist Church

We are now back home after our first meeting of 2012!  Wow, God is so good!  It is a 1900 mile trip to Wamsutter and back!  It was so good to see Pastor Dean Switzer and his wife Sue.  They asked us to stay with them this week so we would not have to pull our trailer through the mountains in the winter, nor stay in a motel.  That was so nice of them and we certainly enjoyed the fellowship, meals and meeting!   We felt the attendance was really good for this time of year, and the last night, God moved in the hearts of four precious souls to walk the isle, praying to receive Jesus as Lord and Savior!  PTL!!!     The wonderful folks of Wamsutter Baptist took very good care of Mary and I, we had good food, including Moose,  great fellowship, and they gave us a very good love offering!
Mary and I took turns driving and drove straight through coming home, and it was not a bad trip at all.  14 1/2 hours on the road, had a nice tail wind, and good travel conditions except for some slick spots on the passes.  We thank the Lord for a great week and again, say thanks to Dean for having us come and opening up their home to us.
We are now back home and received thenews of one of our church members and good supporters of SCM passed away last night.  Our hearts go out to his wife and family!  We all realize the day comes when God calls us home, but when it is very unexpected as this was, it makes it very hard on the family.  Again, our prayers to the family as they work through this time, and we know God will surround them with His Love.
We are now home for a while, but have a busy schedule in front of us.  We have a board meeting of the Lenapah Cowboy Camp Meeting the 20th, preaching at FBC Nowata on the 22, and then preaching in the morning session of the Oklahoma State Evangelism Conference on January 30th.  Thanks for your prayers and looking forward to a great 2012!!!
We had planned on adding a picture, but for some reason we are having a little problem getting them uploaded.  Sorry about that, we will keep trying!

WRONGFUL INFORMATION CAN RESULT IN RUIN

Our hearts have been so burdened these last few weeks because of what we keep hearing and reading what so many well meaning Christians are saying and writing.  They either do not know the Scriptures or they are misleading people on purpose for self gain or some other reason.
Please allow me to explain, and if you stop and search the Scriptures you will understand where we are coming from.
You see, we read and hear well meaning people say, "Hey it is ok if you drink, or have made some mistakes.  Do not feel bad, we all make mistakes.  Just remember you are a special being, God understands, so do not feel bad, just get up and keep going."
Now there are different ways of saying what we wrote, but in short that is the message so many are giving.  Here is the problem.  It is not the whole truth, and therefore not Biblical.  Here is the fact, we are sinners, and sinners can not have fellowship with God. (IS.59:2).  A person that is not Born Again can not be apart of the Kingdom of God.  (John 3:3-8).  In order for a person to be Born Again, they have to confess with their mouth that Jesus is Lord, they have to believe in their heart that God raised Jesus from the grave, and they have to call upon the name of the Lord Jesus. (Romans 10:9-13). They have to repent of the sin in their life!  (Acts 3:19).  You see, the problem of not telling people the whole story is they could die in their sin and be separated from God and good for all eternity.
Jesus said the Holy Spirit will convict the world of sin.(John 16:8).  When a person is convicted that he or she is in sin, (doing something that is not right in God's sight), then they feel bad, hurt, and sometimes feel worthless.  That is what God wants!  God wants a broken heart!  One that is broken because of sin in their life!  Then He can start working in their hearts, but not until they realize they are lost!  We must be careful not to make people think they are ok when they sin, when the truth is that unless they are Born Again, (saved), (Believed in Jesus) when they die, they will suffer the wrath of God. (John 3:36).
What we pray these well meaning people will do, is tell the whole story, not just part of it.  Yes, God will forgive, but first, the person must repent. (turn from the way they are going and turn to God).  Remember the Words of Jesus in Luke 13:3 and again in verse 5, "I tell you nay,but except you repent, ye shall all likewise perish".
I pray that those who are leading folks astray, regardless if by accident, on purpose,or just because they do not know the Scriptures, that they will realize the damage they may be doing just in the interest of making someone feel good.  Just as the Bible says, if we fail to warn them, and they die in their sin, their blood is on our hands.  (EZ.33:6),
In short, what concerns us is that so many people believe they can continue in sin and God will over look it.  That when they feel bad about the sin, they should just hold up their head and keep going.  This is wrong, and doing very much danger to the hearer of reader of such if they are not a Born Again child of the King!  If they are Born Again, and continue in that sin with out repentance they will pay a price in God not hearing their prayers.  IS 59:1-2).
Thank you for allowing me to share our feelings about those that are misleading lost people astray.  Maybe the ones that are writing and saying those things mean to be speaking to the Christian, if so, they should say so.  If they are trying to make a lost person feel good because of sin in their life, then that is wrong.  We need to share the whole story of REPENTANCE AND FORGIVENESS!!

GOOD BYE TO 2011 AND HELLO TO 2012

Well, as the old saying goes, it's history!  What a year for evangelism and ministry, God has truly blessed!   We are excited about what is going to take place in 2012, not knowing what, but God does, and that is want counts.
Mary and I are getting ready to leave this coming week for Wamsutter, WY. to be with Dean Switzer and the Baptist Church.   We have worked with Dean many times and always love the way he has everyone ready to hear and to support the meetings!  He and his wife Sue are great workers for the Kingdom of God!  We will be conducting our Power Point Bible Presentation of the Second Coming of Jesus Christ!  Wow, so much has taken place in 2011 that leads us to know the day is drawing closer with each sunset!   When Jesus said there would be signs to watch for, He told us what they were.   Friends, they are happening so rapidly that it almost makes one's head swim!   We are living in some extraordinary times, and not knowing how many days we have left, we surely need to redeem the time wisely!   Our prayer is for God to open the doors for ministry and then we seek His Will in the messages and programs, that when it is all done, it is Jesus that is lifted up and glorified!
With so much false teaching going on today, those of us in the ministry have a real challenge to set the records straight, and to do that  we must preach the Word of God, not the word of professor so and so, or author of any other books, but tell the people what God says!  Just as we shared with a person this week when they asked what books could they read to help them understand the second coming?  I said read the Bible.     Books are written by men, there are many good one out there, but the one that counts is the Bible, it is without any error and can be trusted.   Please pray for us that we continue to study and work hard at the calling God has put on us to share the Word of God!
Well, Mary and I wish for you and yours a very Happy New Year and many blessing from the Great Almighty God of the Universe, and His Son, Jesus Christ!!!

MAY GOD BLESS OUR REPUBLIC

In our God and Country Bible Study, we make mention that our nation was established as a Republic, not a Democracy.  We are amazed at how many people do not know that fact.   When we share that nowhere in our Declaration of Independence nor in our Constitution does it say we are a Democracy, they seemed amazed.  Those of us my age or older knew this because is was taught in our schools.   After all, don't we sing the "Battle Hymn of the Republic", not the Battle Hymn of the Democracy.   When we pledge allegiance to the flag,  isn't the words, "To the Republic for which it stands"?  It is not to the Democracy for which it stands.

We agree with some that on the surface there seems little difference between a republic and a democracy, but there is.  It is recored that when our nation was founded, a lady asked Benjamin Franklin if our nation was a Republic or a Democracy?  He answered, " A Republic mam, if you can keep it".   You see, our founding fathers knew the difference, and we feel it is something we need to teach our people today.   One of our founding fathers was Noah Webster, he said this, "Our citizens should early understand that the genuine source of correct republican principles is the Bible, particularly the New Testament, or the Christian religion".
What seems few understand today is that a Republic is a nation founded upon the belief that all her citizens have certain rights given by God,and are ruled by those laws of God. They can not be changed.   On the other hand, a democracy is a nation founded upon the belief that the majority rules and can change laws based upon the majority of the peoples wishes.    Think with me a moment,  in our nation the law says you shall not murder.  That also is a God given law and our nations law was established from the Divine Law.  Yet in a democracy, that means that if 51% of the people decided that it no longer wants that law, and so votes to do away with it and state that murder is legal, then it becomes law it is ok to kill.   (Think about abortion for a minute).   A Republic says those rights and laws from God can not be changed.  David Barton has said it well, when he penned these words, "Our founding fathers understood that Biblical values formed the bases of the republic and that the republic would be destroyed if the peoples knowledge of those values should ever be lost".

John Adams said, "A Democracy will soon degenerate into an anarchy, such an anarchy that every man will do what is right in his own eyes and no man's life or property or reputation or liberty will be secure and every one of these will soon mould itself into a system of subordination of all the moral virtures and intellectual abilities, all the power of wealth, beauty, wit, and science to the wanton pleasures, the capricious will, and the abominable cruelty of one or the very few".

Time nor space will afford us to go any further, but we suggest the citizens of our nation learn the difference.  What a democracy will do is to cause us to end up in mob rule.  We are sorry to say, the USA is very close to that at this time.  History tells us that a Democracy lasts only until the majority find they can vote themselves riches from the treasury of the Government and then it will collapse.  May God help the USA to return to her roots.

Please pray for our Bible Presentation of "God and Country", or sometimes called "The Religion of our Founding Fathers."

We close with this statement from James Wilson, signer of the Constitution and a U.S. Supreme Court Justice, " HUMAN LAW MUST REST ITS AUTHORITY ULTIMATELY UPON THE AUTHORITY OF THAT LAW THAT IS DIVINE".

HAPPY THANKSGIVING AND MERRY CHRISTMAS

christmas09.gifMary and I are home now for the holidays!  I must say , it is nice, but already, just a few days being home, we are getting anxious to hit the road again!
We are excited about getting to spend some time with our family, and just be around the house for a while.  We have had a great year, done over 40 meetings, seen hundreds come, praying to receive Christ as Lord and Savior!
We are working on a Christmas and year end letter to send out, thanking everyone for their prayers and support.  It is so wonderful to know we have so many that care for the work we are doing and support us in so many different ways!

2012 is right around the corner, we leave in January for Wyoming, then back for the state evangelism conference, which we are listed as one of the speakers for the Monday morning session.   Things are a bit slow for 2012 yet, but so was 2011 at this same time last year.  We trust God will provide what we need, when we need it, and where we need to minister.  So many of our meetings are repeat meetings, going back year and year to the same place and seeing God work in wondrous ways!  Mary and I are truly, the modern day circuit riders, and love what we are doing!!

Thanks again for all he prayers and support, may God bless you and yours this holiday season and as the old saying goes, let us never forget this fact and may we shout it from the roof top: JESUS IS THE REASON FOR THE SEASON!!!
